NEO - NALIDIN contains kaolin
(aluminum silicate hydroxilate), a drug highly effective
against diarrheas. Due to its micellar dispersion it has
proven to be a good absorbent of choli-dysentery toxins,
it is also deposited in all the walls of the intestinal
mucosa, thus protecting thereof mechanically against irritating
or toxic substances that have not been absorbed.
Pectin is a carbohydrate obtained from several fruits,
which also exerts its anti-diarrheic action; it decomposes
on the colon producing an unfavorable environment for
the abnormal bacterial flora that causes diarrhea.
The neomycin presents its antibacterial powerful action
with an anti-microbial spectrum that includes micro-organisms
considered as frequent etiological factors of diarrhea,
mainly Shigella, Salmonella and coliform species.
The anti-diarrheic effect of NEO-NALIDIN does not affect
intestinal motility in any manner whatsoever, which motility
is considered a defense mechanism in dysenteric infections.
It is indicated for infections of the digestive tract
that become evident by diarrhea produced by salmonellas,
shigellas, proteus, coliform, etc., microbial dysentery,
acute and chronic gastroenteritis, dispepsy, unspecific
diarrheas, food intoxications. |
